What's it all about?
What is REBIRTHING BREATHWORK??

Breathwork, or to use the yogic term PRANAYAMA - is the science & art of expanding & contracting your energy through patterns of breathing.

A broad term, it covers a slew of ways we can 'manipulate' our breath to shift our state - energy levels, state of mind, emotions, consciousness.

Modern breathwork developed out of pranayama, often employed to access so called higher states of consciousness - such as Holotropic Breathwork, Breath of Bliss - or to achieve certain physical feats such as the Wim Hoff Method.
Yoga itself offers a myriad of breathwork practices with physical, mental &/or more spiritual focuses.

The majority of these practices will employ an active inhale AND exhale.

And this is where Rebirthing Breathwork offers something truly different, with different results.

Rebirthing Breathwork employs a strong inhale with a passive exhale - the exhale gentle & natural, akin to a sigh. No control.

Allowing your exhale in this way is a SURRENDER,
a LETTING GO.


Allowing & surrendering to our breath supports us to 'do' the same in our life.
Surrendering the past to allow integration & release of trauma's, old patterns & contracted/stuck energy.

This is self healing that you are then creating for yourself... through NOT doing.

In contrast to my days in Kundalini Yoga (this breath practice is the exact opposite of Breath of Fire that I did so many hours of!), & the impacts of many other forms of Breathwork or pranyama - Rebirthing Breathwork is not done to get a physical high or to keep us in perfect condition, although these things may come as a side benefit.

It is not a bypassing of what happened or a denial of who we are.

It is an offering to ourselves of acceptance, pure and simple.

It supports us to facilitate our own healing, ground us into our bodies (rather than transcend), open to our potential & unhook us from our over reliance on the ego - the intellect & rational/thinking mind.

Learn to connect your breath & relax your exhale, surrender to your natural breath & your natural state is the result.
